Focus Women’s Health:
How Can Women Do Everything and Stay Healthy, too?
You know what I mean…….You’re in the middle of it right now: carpooling, dusting, vacuuming, grocery shopping, the baby’s crying, running errands, the kids are fighting, your husband’s worried about his job, you’re having to care for a parent who just got out of the hospital, your girlfriend is going through a rough time right now, one of your grandparents just died, that part-time job of yours just isn’t helping out enough with the family finances, etc……
For all of the strides women have made throughout the generations, and even though it’s OK now to work or not to work, to stay home and raise the kids, or to choose not to stay home, women still generally put in more hours during the day, from the time they get up till the time their heads hit the pillow. That’s because, whether women are working outside the house, or not, they still usually take care of the house and the family. Men who have a full-time job during the day come home and relax, but women are still “working” till they go to bed at night!
So here’s my question for the women who do everything, or feel like they do everything. Did you ever just want to get some information, easily, on the health questions that concern you most? I feel that some websites about health and wellness may be too overcrowded with information, which can be distracting. Some people may want to just tune out. Well, here are some pages just for you, in an easy-to-read format that is also easy on the eyes. Some information, some facts, some suggestions in a no-nonsense, illuminating, and encouraging presentation. You will also find referrals for literature and products to help you find the kind of vibrant health you’re looking for.
I think all of us realize that we can’t make the most of the lives we’ve been given, we can’t continue to create the next joyful and beautiful days and months ahead of us if we’re not feeling well. So I’d like to share some of the information I’ve learned with all of you: science and medicine and the field of health and wellness are constantly changing, constantly being updated because of brilliant and creative people out there, who are working on all kinds of ideas to make our lives better. It’s a fascinating time to be alive, to see the fantastic innovations all around us that will help us to achieve our own individual dreams.
My first piece of advice is this: decide right now to take control of your own health and wellness. If you see your doctor, tell him/her exactly how you’re feeling, because you know yourself better than he or she does. If your doctor doesn’t want to listen then find someone else! Also, don’t be afraid to ask questions, after all, it’s your body and your life.
Obviously, the best course of action is to take care of yourself so well that you won’t need to see your doctor except for your annual visit, so health maintenance and living well is going to be a big part of this site.
